I just saw this thread now. I would definitely use the service. It would be so helpful instead of typing while driving. Could we get free/unlimited calls to it from MAXRoam???
I might not, since I just prefer tapping out my messages, either at my desktop, or on my phone. I actually prefer using data services on my phone as opposed to voice whenever possible. But you never know, it might come in handy some day.
Free/unlimited calls from MaxRoam? I think that the 'unlimited' bit is highly unlikely, some free - maybe. All that is required is someone (a sposor) to pay for the GSM leg of the call.... Failing that, you could always just pay for the call - which is going to be no more than 30 seconds at a time - what is the cost of a 30 second MaxRoam call?
Yes - understood - but with MaxRoam there there would ALWAYS be a GSM leg into JaikuFone - currently that is set up on an international roaming GSM profile and is quite expensive. It is difficult to see how one could make international roaming calls into Jaikufone free! However, SIP VoIP over WiFi would be a very different scenario.......
Sip is always pretty much free James, sip from pc or sip from a Nokia phone. Unfortunately wifi is not free or everywhere which I learned to my loss in Paris this week.
all twitterfone/ Jaikufone (if we proceed with it) numbers are sip so calls to it are free over millions of providers if you are in a free wifi zone so its qualified again.
local calls using your minute bundles are the easiest way to go
we have not had one complaint on twitterfone regarding the cost of calling the number (its a local call)
little digs do not become you

Certainly wouldn't say no.

Totally. But until Google gets the finger out, usage would be low.

We have two academic programmes all over Jaiku and those third level students would get continuous assessment credit for their use of Jaikuphone.

Would use if an unlimited Jaikudata bundle was included

what is it? I think I'd rather see the s60 app ported to other platforms to make the presence aspect more useful

Jaikuphone would be a jaiku version of twitterphone that Pat's company does. Google it

I'd happily pay call cost to Jaikufone just as I do for SMS to Jaiku/Twitter. It's all about the value to me not the cost.

I'd pay to call Jaikufone because there are times making that call would actually be a Lazyweb request worth paying to make.

I would call because it's so much safer to talk instead of text going 80mph.
